Business Growth Audit Launch

Alchemy 7 has launched a new Business Growth Audit service for companies of all sizes that are looking for an independent and fresh perspecive on how they can grow and develop their business in the future.

The Audit comprises structured discussions and questionnaires with senior management and staff as well as external market research including an in-depth competitor analysis. Internal research may also include one or more business growth workshops to draw out new ideas and gain full employee involvement.

A sample of existing customers, past customers, and prospects will also be questionned on their attitudes towards the company and product or service enhancements that they would like to see in the future. Customers are more likely to reveal their true thoughts to a third party company. Past customers may, for example, use price as an excuse for moving away, whereas research shows that typically two thirds of customers go elsewhere due to a perceived lack of interest from the supplier/poor service.

The main output from the Audit will be a Business Growth Action Plan which will be based around our 7 Profit Multipliers. This will include, for example, improvements to market positioning, sales lead generation, sales conversion, and customer lifetime/customer experience. We can assist with the implemenation of the Action Plan if required.

One of the most cost effective ways of growing a business is to partner with one or more likeminded companies that are non competing and have a customer base that could be interested in your products or services. It’s all about the Quality

Ok, so I attended the East Midlands Business to Business Exhibition and let’s be honest many of the exhibitors, including myself, were disappointed with the number of visitors.

Having said that I picked up 2 high quality leads and I also had a good chance to network with other exhibitors and build some potential business partnerships for the future.

My seminar turned into a great one to one session with a company that has a lot of growth potential and hopefully we will be working together in the future.

So in the cold light of day I would say that it was worth attending from my point of view. Having said that if I was a low cost high volume business looking for more like 15 to 20 leads from the day I might not have the same view of the event. In other words each participant needs to evaluate its participation against its own criteria.

Nova Business Growth System Launch

Great news, we have just launched our new Nova business growth system!

Marketing Budget Fallacy

I was at a Chamber of Commerce networking event a few days ago and one of my fellow delegates commented on how he had switched his marketing budget from advertising to another form of promotion.

I quizzed him on this and it became apparent that he didn’t really have any idea how successful the advertising had been, but that he felt he should move his marketing spend to a different area.

At my company, Alchemy 7, we are very scientific about how we look at marketing spend. The bottom line is that you can put systems in place to be able to measure the effectiveness of different campaigns. If you know that by investing £1,000 for example on a particular campaign you generate £2,000 in profit then the marketing budget becomes an investment rather than a cost. Would you switch this expenditure to something else or would you build on this success with increased investment?

The bottom line is that most companies do not measure the effectiveness of their marketing and that is why they view marketing as a cost rather than as an investment. The good news for savvy marketers is that there are plenty of opportunities to take a more scientific approach to their campaigns and stay ahead of the game.
